The MSP 214 is supplied as a pair of units, one transmitter (TX) and one receiver (RX), that carry a DVI signal over optical fiber. It accepts DVI 1.0 signals and HDMI up to version 1.4 when an adapter is used. Supported resolutions reach WUXGA (1920x1200@60Hz), with 2048x1152@60Hz and 2560x816@60Hz also listed.
The link provides up to 10 Gbps of video bandwidth with low loss and a maximum transmission distance of 10 km. Video connects through DVI-I 25+1 pin sockets, and the optical side uses SFP modules. The fiber can be single-mode twin-core or multimode twin-core, both terminated with LC connectors.
