Discontinued hybrid direct-drive turntable with a built-in MIDI control section (Trax encoder, 8 drum pads, four performance modes) for DJs using Serato DJ, Traktor, Virtual DJ or Scratch Live. It has an adjustable-torque quartz motor and a +/-50% pitch range.

The RP-8000 is a quartz-driven, upper-torque direct-drive turntable that adds a MIDI control section to the deck itself. The section has a Trax encoder for browsing and loading tracks, eight backlit multi-function pads, and four combinable performance modes: cue, loop, sample and slicer. A dual-performance option splits the pads between two modes at once. It works with MIDI-compatible DJ software without a separate controller. It is officially supported in Serato DJ, and mappings are available for Traktor and Serato Scratch Live.
The deck offers pitch ranges of +/-8%, +/-16% and +/-50% at 0.02% resolution, with an LCD that shows pitch, BPM, deck assignment and firmware settings. Torque is adjustable from a classic to a high-torque setting, start/brake time runs from 0.2 to 6 seconds, and there are a reverse switch and two start/stop buttons. A line/phono switch allows direct connection to line inputs without grounding.
The deck connects to a computer by USB. Up to four turntables can be linked over USB, so only one needs a direct computer connection and the others assign themselves to the next deck in turn. Mains and RCA cables are removable. The unit ships without a stylus or headshell.
