The RMP-4 combines a CD player, a USB media player and a software controller in one tabletop unit. A source selector switches between CD, USB and MIDI modes, and the USB port accepts hard disks and flash drives formatted FAT 12/16/32. Playable formats are MP3, WAVE, AAC and AIFF.

Eight trigger pads work in four modes: Hot Cue, Hot Loop, Loop Roll (1/32 to 4/1 beats) and Sampler for one-shot or looped samples. A SLIP mode, seven auto beat loop buttons, quantize and a high-resolution keylock are included. The dual-zone, touch-sensitive jog wheel and the 100 mm pitch fader allow manual beat matching, with micro pitch adjustment down to 0.01%.

A DotMatrix VFD display shows track metadata and is navigated with a push encoder. Two RMP-4 units can be joined with the Smart-Link connection to share one USB source or DJ software and to sync tempo in master/slave mode. Output is analogue RCA. MIDI mappings for popular DJ software, including Traktor, are available for download, along with a Database Builder analysis tool for Windows and macOS.
