RMP-2.5 Alpha
CD, USB and MIDI-controller media player from Reloop, now discontinued. It plays CD, CD-R, USB sticks and hard drives, and its controls can also drive DJ software such as Traktor. It suits DJs who want a media player and a software controller in one unit.

The RMP-2.5 Alpha plays WAV and MP3 files from CD, CD-R, USB sticks and USB hard drives. It also works as a MIDI controller: every control element (25 buttons, one turning knob, one push encoder, one fader and the jog wheel) sends MIDI, and a shift function gives each a second assignment so one unit can control two virtual decks. Assignments can be stored as MIDI presets.
Playback features include a touch-sensitive two-part jog wheel with a scratch simulator and return-to-cue, seamless loops, automatic and manual beat counter, four pitchable 5-second sample banks and four cue point banks. Pitch range is adjustable (+/-4/8/16/100%) with micro pitch resolution down to 0.02%, plus pitch lock and master tempo. A DotMatrix VFD display shows track information, and search by title, artist, album or genre is supported via ID3 tags. A Database Builder application can analyse USB drives for faster, filtered browsing.
Two players can share one USB drive through the USB Audio Link function, and a USB Auto Switch mode changes between USB MIDI and USB Audio Link. Connection is via a USB 2.0 port for storage devices, with a headphone output on the unit. A Traktor mapping and firmware updates are offered as downloads.
