The RMP-1660 USB is a single front-loading CD player that handles standard audio CDs as well as MP3 discs, so it can play commercial releases, in-house productions or prepared mixdowns. Two USB 2.0 ports on the unit accept USB sticks and hard disks formatted as FAT16 or FAT32.
Playback tools include a seamless loop with a reloop function, selectable pitch ranges of ±4%, ±8% and ±16% (up to ±100% on CD), and pitch bend of ±16%. A large jog dial handles search and scan, with a separate frame search. Auto cue, 10-track skipping, elapsed and remaining time display and a 10-second anti-shock memory are included, and a large LC display shows the main functions. An 8-fold, 1-bit D/A converter is used so playback starts instantly.
The housing follows the 19-inch format and has a rubber-paint finish, which suits rack installation in clubs. The manufacturer lists the unit as discontinued.
