The BeatMix is a two-deck controller designed around Virtual DJ and supplied with Virtual DJ LE Deck Reloop Edition. Each deck has a flat, 14 cm touch-sensitive aluminium jog wheel with two modes, one for scratching and pitch bend and one for fast track searching. A large transport section, hot cue panel with delete button, smart loop section and a shift layer give a second function to the controls.
The effects section includes a filter dial per deck, and a Beat Mash mode lets the user chop a track bar-precisely on the fly. The mixer section has 3-band EQs, gain dials, line faders, a crossfader and 70 mm pitch faders. A Trax Encoder with four deck load buttons handles library browsing without a mouse. In total there are 61 MIDI controls, and the unit works with other MIDI-learning software, with Traktor mappings offered as a download.
A built-in USB audio interface provides a stereo RCA output and a booth/record output, plus a 6.3 mm headphone output and a 6.3 mm microphone input. The controller is powered over USB and ships with ASIO drivers for Windows. A Kensington security slot is fitted.
