Beatmix 4

The Beatmix 4 is a bus-powered controller built around Serato DJ and ships with the 4-deck version of Serato DJ Intro. It has a four-channel mixer section with a 3-band EQ and gain control on every channel, line faders and a crossfader, plus a fader-start function for cueing from the channel fader.

Each deck has a slim, touch-sensitive jog wheel with an aluminium platter, and LEDs on the surface and rim indicate the virtual needle position in Serato DJ. A rubberised block of 16 colour-coded pads, each about 3 cm, handles hot cues, loops, loop lengths and samples. Split mode lets cue points and the sampler be used at once, and the sampler has its own volume fader. Two FX units, each with three rotary knobs and an endless encoder, control the iZotope effects inside Serato, including FX quantization.

The built-in USB audio interface provides a stereo RCA master output, a microphone input with its own level control, and two headphone outputs (3.5 mm and 6.3 mm). It is also MIDI-capable for other DJ software, with a Traktor Pro 2 mapping and documentation for VirtualDJ and PCDJ available. Firmware and Windows ASIO drivers are provided for download.
