The Ampire D1080 is a digital PA power amplifier from the Ampire series, which also includes the D360, D720, D1700, D2100 and D2500. It can run in stereo or in mono-bridged mode. In stereo it delivers 2x 300 W into 8 Ohm or 2x 540 W into 4 Ohm; bridged to mono it delivers 1x 1080 W into 8 Ohm.
The chassis is a single rack unit and weighs 3.2 kg, so it suits rack installation as well as mobile work. Channels A and B have separate amplifier circuits. A switch-mode power supply is used, and a soft-start limiter reduces the load when the unit is switched on. Cooling is by fans with variable speed, and a thermal protection system is fitted.
Signals come in on XLR inputs, and the outputs use PA pro speaker cable connectors. An instruction manual is available as a PDF. The maker lists this model as discontinued.
