The RS7 is a fairly large floor-standing speaker built around a quarter-wave transmission line enclosure. It uses a two-and-a-half-way driver system, combining a bass/mid unit with a high-frequency unit, with the aim of giving a natural low-frequency response and balanced mid-range.
The tweeter is the in-house HF20-ZRR, designed to remove unwanted rear reflection and so keep distortion low. The 7-inch RR7.8 bass driver fires from the side of the cabinet and uses an 8-layer voice coil, which means no additional crossover is needed for that driver. Because of the side-firing arrangement, the speakers can be turned with the side units facing outwards for a wider sound stage, or swapped over so the side units face each other if imaging becomes less precise.
The speaker is bi-wirable and bi-ampable, and is suited to amplifiers from 30 W to 500 W depending on amplifier quality. It is offered in three finishes: Natural Cherry, Black Ash and Gloss Piano Black. English and French manuals are available.
