RS3

The RS3 is a floorstanding speaker built around three drive units: a classic RR125 mid-range driver in a sealed section, a side-firing 5" bass driver, and the HF20-ZRR high frequency unit. The bass and bass/mid drivers are assembled by hand in house. The bass driver uses an 8-layer voice coil, which lets its crossover run without extra components for that driver. The ZRR tweeter is designed to remove rear reflections and keep distortion low.

The crossover is deliberately simple and needs no additional filter networks. Bi-wiring is not offered, as the maker sees no benefit for this crossover, though bi-amping is considered worthwhile. A front-firing port allows placement against a wall without bass lift, and the side-firing bass driver makes positioning easier in most rooms. A comb filter in the lower part of the cabinet helps even out the low-end tonal balance and also braces the cabinet.

The cabinet is finished in real wood veneer. Nominal impedance is 6 ohms with sensitivity of about 89dB, and it accepts amplification from 30W to 500W. It connects with a single pair of speaker terminals.
