RP10

The RP10 is a twin belt-drive turntable built around a lightweight skeletal plinth. The plinth is made of thin phenolic skins around a polyolefin foam core, with a double brace of magnesium on top and phenolic below, placed between the tonearm mount and the main bearing. Using two materials is meant to cut resonance through self-damping. The plinth is described as seven times lighter than the original Planar 3 plinth.

The RB2000 tonearm is assembled by hand, with hand-selected bearings fitted to their spindles and no adhesive anywhere in the structure. The platter is a diamond-cut ceramic oxide flywheel type on an aluminium sub platter. A 24v twin phase synchronous motor drives it through a CNC machined pulley, and each motor is tuned at the factory to its own RP10 power supply. That supply uses a DSP generator built on a crystal to set speed and produce the motor's drive waveform.

An outer frame is decoupled from the inner plinth, touching it only at three location points on the feet. It allows a dust cover to be used, and the deck can also run without the frame. An Apheta 2 moving coil cartridge can be factory fitted as an option.
