The Elicit MK5 is a stereo integrated amplifier built around a Class A/B power stage rated at 105 W per channel into 8 Ω, rising to 127 W into 6 Ω and 162 W into 4 Ω. It is intended to drive demanding loudspeakers and sits in the current Rega case design.
The preamp uses a discrete FET circuit and an Alps volume potentiometer, both carried over from the Aethos. Other build details include discrete circuitry, high-quality relays, polypropylene capacitors and Sanken output transistors. The digital section has galvanically and optically isolated inputs, a Wolfson S/PDIF receiver and a Wolfson DAC with a Rega-designed discrete line driver. Sample rates up to 192 kHz and bit depths of 16 to 24 bit are supported.
Connectivity covers four line inputs, an optical and a coaxial digital input, a moving magnet phono input, a Direct input, a record loop, a pre-out and a headphone output. Thermal cut-out protection is fitted.
