The Brio 2017 is an integrated amplifier that replaces the earlier Brio with a new two-part aluminium case, which improves heat sinking. It delivers 50 W RMS per channel into 8 Ω and has a moving magnet phono stage fitted as standard, alongside four line-level inputs.
Inside, the PCB layout was reworked for higher-specification critical parts. A second raw power supply separates the output stage from the driver stage and the line and phono amplifiers, which keeps high-level and low-level signal stages isolated. MUSES operational amplifiers are used in the line and phono sections.
A headphone socket on the front drives standard hi-fi headphones from the internal amplifier. It is designed so that it has little effect on the main signal path when not in use, and the switch that mutes the speakers received particular attention. A record output is provided, and a remote control with two AAA batteries is included.
