Ania Pro

The Ania Pro is a low-output moving-coil cartridge that uses a hand-wound coil on an iron micro cross, driven by a high-power neodymium magnet. The stylus is a Vital-profile nude diamond on a tapered aluminium cantilever, and the coil is wound from 0.018 mm wire. The generator is undamped, with no tie wire, and works with a rhomboid cantilever pivot.

The body is moulded from a glass-filled polymer, PPS (Fortron, 40% glass), chosen for its hardness and dimensional stability, and carries stainless steel inserts. It is fixed to the headshell with a three-point mounting that also sets overhang automatically. A red rigid cover protects the internal fine wires during fitting.

It needs a moving-coil capable phono input. The recommended load is 100 Ω and 1000 pF, with gain set high, which is the On position on Rega phono stages. It is offered as an optional upgrade, including factory fitted, on the Planar 6 and Planar 8 turntables.
