SW8
The SW8 is an 8-channel auto-switcher that moves between two multi-channel playback systems, giving live shows a redundant backup for backing tracks. It suits touring and stage playback engineers, and several units can be linked for larger rigs.

The SW8 sits between a main and a backup playback machine and routes eight channels of audio to the house or monitor system. An adjustable gate watches a continuous signal on the main machine, such as SMPTE timecode. If that signal drops, the unit changes over to the backup machine automatically.
Switching can also be done by hand from the front panel or with a footswitch such as the Radial JR2. Outputs can be line level or transformer-isolated mic level. For rigs larger than eight channels, several SW8 units can be linked so they switch together.
It is aimed at live concerts and stage shows that rely on backing tracks for orchestration, vocals and effects, from simple stereo fly-in setups to productions where every track is sent out on its own channel. Two power supplies are included with the unit.
