The Studio-Q adds talkback to a studio setup. Pressing the talkback button activates a built-in omnidirectional microphone and at the same time lowers the playback level, so the engineer's voice is heard clearly by the artist over headphones in another room or vocal booth.
An external dynamic microphone can be connected to the XLR input as an alternate talkback source, which lets a producer or band member also speak to the artist. A footswitch can be added for hands-free remote operation of the talkback function, and the Radial JR1-M and JR1-L footswitches are listed as accessories.
A remote Beacon can be connected with a 1/4" cable. It lights whenever the talkback button is pressed, giving the artist a visual signal that someone is trying to communicate over the cue system. A power supply is included with the unit.
