SGI Stereo
The SGI Stereo is a two-channel instrument line driver made up of a transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) that carry two unbalanced guitar signals over a single Cat5 Ethernet cable for up to 100 m (300 ft). It suits guitarists with stereo pedalboards or modellers who need to reach remote amplifiers.

The SGI Stereo sends a pair of unbalanced instrument signals from a TX unit to an RX unit over one standard Cat5 cable, using analogue audio over Ethernet with no digital conversion. The TX buffers the signals to drive long distances, and the RX converts them to a suitable impedance to feed the amplifiers. It can also work over a building's existing Ethernet wiring.
Both units use Jensen transformers, two in the TX and two in the RX, for isolation against ground-loop hum and buzz. The TX has left and right 1/4" Thru jacks for local amps or a direct box; if only the Left Thru is connected, both channels are summed there. The RX has a 180° polarity reverse switch for the left output and an independent ground lift switch for each channel.
The TX connects with locking RJ45 connectors compatible with Neutrik etherCON. It ships with a 15V power supply but also accepts any 9V to 18V supply with centre-pin positive or negative polarity, so it can run from a pedalboard power supply. Typical uses include studio control-room recording, isolation cabinets, under-stage amps and large stages.
