The Reamp HP is a small transformer-isolated reamper built to be fed from a headphone output. Plugged into the headphone jack of an audio interface, it converts the signal so recorded guitar, bass or even vocal tracks can be sent through amplifiers and pedals and then recorded again. Assigning the track to the right channel of the headphone output is all that is needed, and stereo tracks can be summed to mono with the dedicated mono switch.
Both a 1/4" and a 3.5mm input are provided, so the unit works with interfaces as well as smartphones and tablets. This allows sound-creation apps to be combined with pedals and amps, in the studio or on stage. An isolation transformer and a ground lift switch help remove hum and buzz, and a level control sets the output signal.
Because it uses the existing headphone jack, no cables need to be repatched and no spare interface outputs are used up.
