The North-Star is a dual-function, true-bypass pedal with two independent circuits: an overdrive and a class-A booster. Either can be used alone or both together, covering tones from light crunch to singing distortion. The overdrive is designed to keep notes clear and articulate at any drive setting.
The booster adds up to +24dB of clean gain and can be used to push the front end of a smaller amp until it breaks up naturally. Engaging the boost footswitch also switches on the built-in effects loop, so a delay or other effect connected there comes in together with the boost for solos, using one footswitch press.
