The LX8 is a rackmount splitter for balanced line-level signals. Each of its eight channels can feed several destinations at once, for example a PA, a recording rig and a second audio system, while the transformers break ground loops that cause hum and buzz.
The circuit is fully passive, so no power is needed. Every channel has its own Jensen JT-123-SLPC transformer, which copes with signals above +26dB at all frequencies down to 20Hz without audible distortion, with little phase shift. Typical uses include splitting preamp outputs to a recorder and the PA, feeding two separate audio systems in large venues, multi-function rooms or broadcast facilities, and sending a signal to delay towers on a separate isolated output.
The unit takes one rack space. Radial lists an owner's manual, a smart sheet and high-resolution photos as downloads for the product.
