The HotShot ABo takes one balanced XLR input and routes it to one of two outputs. A latching footswitch sets the routing, and the unit stays on the last output chosen until the switch is pressed again. Operation is fully passive, so no power is needed. Output pads can be selected to match signal levels between the two destinations.
The unit can also work as a mute. With the signal sent to output A only, pressing the footswitch silences the microphone. This is useful for stopping feedback or for covering a cough.
Typical uses include feeding two mixer channels for dry and wet vocal effects, sending a dynamic mic to the PA or to an in-ear or intercom system so a performer can speak to the band, and muting on stage. All connections are balanced XLR.
