The HotShot ABi lets a performer choose between two balanced XLR inputs by pressing a single latching footswitch. A typical use is swapping between two dynamic microphones during a show, which saves an input channel on the mixer.
Because the switch latches, the unit can also act as a mute for a microphone, pick between two wireless receivers, or change between two mono playback devices. Source A and source B are connected to the two inputs, and the footswitch selects which one reaches the output.
Operation is fully passive, so no power supply or batteries are needed. A selectable input pad is provided so the levels of the two signals can be matched. The unit connects with balanced XLR cables.
