Description

The Hot-British V9 is a solid-state successor to the original Tonebone Hot British tube distortion. It is built around three gain stages, and the amount of distortion can be set anywhere from slight to extreme. Post-distortion EQ controls let the player shape the tone to suit the guitar and playing style.

The signal starts in a class-A buffering circuit. This gives the feel of a true-bypass pedal while adding better noise rejection and a lower impedance. The enclosure is compact and rugged, and the pedal runs from a standard 9V power supply.

It is used in front of a guitar amp. It can also be paired with the JDX Direct-Drive, which simulates a dynamic mic on a 4x12 cabinet, so the pedal can go straight to the PA while keeping the sound and feel of a stage amp. The maker lists this model as discontinued and no longer shipping.
