S-2
The S-2 is a two-way vented bookshelf loudspeaker from QUAD's S Series. It pairs a 45 x 12mm ribbon tweeter with a 125mm Kevlar mid-bass driver, and suits hi-fi listeners who want a compact speaker for a stereo system.

The S-2 is a compact two-way bookshelf loudspeaker in a vented 10.3-litre cabinet. A 125mm woven Kevlar driver handles bass and midrange, and a 45 x 12mm true ribbon unit covers the treble, with the two sections joined by a crossover at 3kHz.
Stated frequency response is 48Hz to 22kHz (±3dB), with bass extension down to 37Hz at -6dB. Sensitivity is 87dB (1W at 1m), nominal impedance is 8Ω and the minimum is 4.5Ω. An amplifier rated between 25W and 150W is recommended. Each speaker weighs 6.1kg.
The S-2 sits in a range that also includes the S-1, S-4, S-5, S-C and S-C2. It is offered in four finishes: Black Oak, Sapele Mahogany, Piano Black and Piano White. A brochure and a manual are available to download.
