Revela 1

The Revela 1 is a bookshelf monitor in Quad's Revela series. It pairs a 165 mm advanced-fibre bass/midrange driver with a true ribbon treble unit, split at 2.9 kHz by a phase-compensated Acoustic Butterworth crossover. The cone uses a new fibre composition chosen for rigidity and self-damping, with a custom rubber surround for greater excursion and a high-power motor system.

The cabinet is a 17.6 L bass-reflex design with internal bracing intended to damp vibration and resonance. The port tube has a set diameter and flared ends to limit longitudinal resonances. Finishes are polished paint: Piano Walnut (real-wood veneer with polished paint) or Piano Black, with a seamlessly joined polished baffle. A matching custom stand in the same gloss finish is available as an option.

The speaker is rated at 86 dB sensitivity with a 6 Ω nominal impedance (4.1 Ω minimum) and suits amplifiers of 30–120 W. Connection is by speaker terminals on the rear. Rubber feet and a user manual are supplied.
