Mono valve power amplifier that reproduces the original QUAD II design, with EF86 input valves, KT66 output valves and a GZ34 rectifier. It delivers 15W RMS into 8 ohms and is supplied as a matched pair, aimed at vintage-minded audiophiles.

The QII-Classic is a mono power amplifier built as a close recreation of the original QUAD II. It keeps the circuit and output transformer approach of the original design, and uses valves equivalent to those in the first model: two EF86 input valves, two KT66 output valves and a GZ34 rectifier. The output stage runs in Class A and gives 15W RMS into an 8 ohm load.
Quoted measurements include a frequency response of 10Hz to 20kHz (±0.2dB), total harmonic distortion of 0.8% at 12W at 700Hz, and residual hum and noise better than -90dB. Damping factor is 11.75 at 700Hz, referred to 8 ohms. Input sensitivity is 775mV RMS.
Each amplifier is a single mono chassis measuring 335 x 121 x 171mm and weighing 8.3kg. Units are supplied in matched pairs, so a stereo system uses two of them, and the amplifier is intended to be paired with suitably matched contemporary loudspeakers.
