Platina CDT

The Platina CDT is a dedicated CD transport with no DAC circuitry of its own. It uses a custom-developed transport mechanism and a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) as the system clock, which holds timing steady as the unit warms up and keeps jitter low on the signal sent to a partnering DAC. It plays CD, CD-R, CD-RW and data CDs, shows CD Text, and supports gapless playback.

A USB input lets it play files from USB hard drives and sticks in FLAC, WAV, MP3, AAC, WMA and APE formats, with FAT16, FAT32 and exFAT file systems supported. Data CD and USB playback handle sample rates from 44.1 kHz to 96 kHz. A centred 4.3-inch IPS display shows track information, and the controls are machined aluminium.

Digital output is through one coaxial and one optical connection. The transport is designed to sit alongside the Platina Integrated and Platina Stream, and a remote control common to the Platina range is included. It comes in black or silver and is supplied in regional mains versions for 100-120 V or 220-240 V.
