Artera Mono

The Artera Mono is a single-channel power amplifier that carries over design features from the other Artera models, with updated audiophile-grade parts and multi-layer circuit boards. It is rated at 300 W into 8 ohms and 400 W into 4 ohms, and has overload recovery and protection against over-driving that does not rely on output line fuses or relays.

Its circuit uses QUAD's patented current dumping design. A low-power Class AB amplifier handles the signal detail, while a high-power section controls the speakers. This approach removes crossover distortion, thermal tracking and transistor matching problems, so no internal adjustments or alignment are needed. The output stage uses OCC (Ohno Continuous Cast) cabling, a single-crystal copper process intended to keep the signal path as simple as possible.

Inputs are available in both balanced and unbalanced form, each with 10k ohm impedance. The amplifier comes in aluminium black or aluminium silver finishes, and the mains supply is specified for 220-240 V or 100-115 V at 50/60 Hz.
