QI80RP

The QI80RP is a two-way full-range in-wall loudspeaker for home theatre installs. Its 8-inch woofer uses a mass-damped polypropylene cone with a nano-particle treatment, driven by a high-powered coil and magnet assembly intended to keep distortion low and handle transient peaks. A high-order crossover joins the woofer and the tweeter, with attention given to mid-range response so that speech stays clear.

The 1-inch silk dome tweeter sits behind a mesh guard and can be swivelled to help tune the sound in the room. A switch also adjusts the high-frequency level. The speaker has low-profile magnetic grilles that are quick to fit, and the design keeps the rear depth small, at a maximum of 95 mm, which suits walls with limited cavity space.

It is part of a range that also has a 6.5-inch two-way model, a D'Appolito array LCR that can serve as a centre channel, and a passive 8-inch subwoofer. The speaker connects to an A/V receiver or power amplifier with standard speaker cable and has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.
