The QI65CW is a round in-ceiling speaker with a 165mm woofer and a fixed 1-inch (25mm) tweeter. It is sold as a pair and is built to cope with damp and outdoor conditions, so it can be used in kitchens, bathrooms and exterior spaces as well as ordinary rooms.
A switch on the crossover raises or lowers the high-frequency level by 3dB, which helps match the sound to the room. The drivers carry protective dust covers, and the friction-fit grille has a cloth backing so it can be painted to blend with the ceiling. The bezel and grille shape are designed to keep the speaker visually discreet.
The speaker is a passive 8 ohm model that is wired to an amplifier, with a program power rating of 15-60W. It needs a 197mm cut-out and has a maximum rear depth of 84mm, with a 232mm diameter round grille. Fire and acoustic hoods are listed by the maker as recommended accessories.
