The 5010 is the smallest model in the 5000 series. Its 110 mm (4.5 in) mid/bass driver uses a single continuous curved cone profile, which is meant to blend smoothly with the 25 mm (1.0 in) tweeter. Larger magnets and voice coils give the driver more power handling and control than a comparable unit with a 25.4 mm voice coil.
The tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the baffle, so pressure inside the cabinet and vibration from the mid/bass driver do not reach it. Internal Point-2-Point bracing stiffens the 5.0 L enclosure. The baffle is laminated with butyl rubber and finished with a black acrylic trim and no visible fixings.
The speaker is passive and connects to a stereo amplifier or AV receiver by speaker cable. It is rated for amplifiers of 15-90 W and has a nominal impedance of 6 ohms. Four finishes are offered: Satin Black, Satin White, Holm Oak and Santos Rosewood. The 5010 is also the satellite speaker in the 5010 5.1 home cinema package.
