The 3040c is a two-way floorstanding loudspeaker sold as a pair. Each cabinet carries two 120 mm mid/bass drivers using a continuous curved cone profile, plus a 22 mm tweeter with a crossover point of 2.4 kHz. Quoted frequency response is 43 Hz to 30 kHz (-6 dB), with 88 dB sensitivity and a 6 ohm nominal impedance.
The tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the baffle so that pressure changes inside the cabinet and movement of the neighbouring mid/bass cone do not modulate it. Cabinets use point-to-point internal bracing to stiffen the enclosure, and Helmholtz pressure equaliser tubes inside the cabinet reduce standing waves. Driver trims are satin metallic.
Connection is by conventional speaker cable from an amplifier rated for roughly 25 to 120 W. Each speaker stands on spike feet and attaches rear stabilisers, and comes with a grille. Finishes are Pin Oak, Claro Walnut, Satin White and Satin Black.
