3020c

The 3020c is a two-way standmount loudspeaker built around a 120 mm mid/bass driver with a continuous curved cone profile (C3) and a 22 mm tweeter. The curved cone is meant to combine the bass behaviour of a straight cone with the midrange control of a flared one, and to blend smoothly with the tweeter. Large magnets on the voice coils are used to keep dynamics tight and reduce harmonic distortion.

The tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the baffle, so pressure inside the cabinet and movement of the mid/bass driver do not modulate it. The cabinet uses Point to Point bracing to stiffen the enclosure and reduce low-end colouration, which is intended to sharpen stereo imaging. The cone profile also allows more flexibility when placing the speakers near walls.

The speakers are passive and connect to a stereo amplifier with speaker cable; the page recommends amplifiers of 25-90 W. They come in Satin Black, Satin White, Pin Oak and Claro Walnut finishes with satin metallic driver trims, and ship with grilles and foam bungs.
