The Xtension 12 Evolution is a belt-drive turntable that carries a 12-inch EVO tonearm. The platter is precision aluminium with a TPE damping ring inside and a vinyl layer on top as the record surface. It spins on an inverted ceramic ball bearing with magnetic support, which is intended to keep bearing noise and resonance low.
The chassis is MDF filled with steel pellets to add mass without using solid alloy, which avoids a ringing effect. Three magnetic feet decouple the turntable from the surface it stands on, so the deck floats above its base. A DC-driven AC generator controls the motor for speed stability, and speeds of 33, 45 and 78 RPM are selected with a button.
Signal leaves the deck through a Connect it E 5P to RCA phono cable. Power comes from an external supply. Finish options include hand painted colours and real wood veneers, and the tonearm and cartridge can be chosen when configuring the turntable.
