The Xtension 10 Evolution is a belt-drive turntable built around a 300 mm aluminium platter weighing 10.3 kg. The platter has a TPE damping ring inside and a vinyl layer on top as the record surface. It spins on an inverted stainless steel bearing with a ceramic ball and antimagnetic support, which is intended to keep bearing noise and resonance low.
The turntable stands on three magnetic feet that decouple it from the surface below, so the heavy chassis effectively floats. A DC-driven AC generator controls the motor for speed stability, and speed is changed electronically between 33, 45 and 78 rpm. Specified wow and flutter is ±0.01% (max) and speed variance ±0.09% (max).
The deck is configurable: finishes include hand painted colours or real wood veneers, and tonearm and cartridge can be chosen. The EVO tonearm has 254 mm effective length, 8.5 g effective mass and four counterweights for cartridges of 4–14 g. Output is via the supplied Connect it E 5P to RCA phono cable, so a phono stage is needed.
