The Speaker Box 12 E Carbon is a floorstanding speaker built around a 1" silk dome tweeter and two 5" carbon fibre glass composite bass/mid drivers. In its 2.5-way layout the lower driver handles only low frequencies, while the cabinet is a non-resonating MDF design with a rear-firing bass reflex port. Quoted frequency response is 42 Hz to 20 kHz at 4 ohms nominal impedance and 89 dB sensitivity.
A separate sand-filled compartment in the cabinet acts as a gravity mass point to absorb vibration and improve stability. The front has no visible screws, and the supplied black grills attach magnetically. Finishes are five satin painted options plus real walnut veneer.
Connection is through a double terminal block with gold plated banana terminals, which allows bi-wiring and bi-amplification. The recommended amplifier power is 20 to 200 watts, and the Stereo Box DS3 and MaiA DS3 are named as suitable partners. Each speaker is 1100 mm tall and weighs 15.17 kg.
