The Pick it MC1 is a moving-coil cartridge built around a neodymium N40H magnet, a square generator coil and 6N OFC pure copper windings. A spherical diamond sits on an aluminium cantilever, and the body is made from resonance-optimised ABS, giving a total weight of about 5 grams.
Because the stylus and coil assembly is light, an MC design offers wider frequency range and faster transient response than a typical MM cartridge, and its low source impedance reduces sensitivity to hum. Output is about 20 dB lower than an MM type, so a high-quality phono stage is recommended. Medium compliance suits most entry to mid-level turntables.
It mounts to the standard 1/2 inch headshell spacing and has threaded holes, so it can be fitted without nuts. Tracking force is 1.7–2.1 g with 1.9 g recommended, and the recommended load resistance is 100–470 Ω.
