XB3

The XB3 is a passive sub-bass unit for studio surround monitoring, intended to be paired with any of the BB5 series monitors. It shares most of its driver and cabinet technology with the XB2, but uses a larger 15-inch Radial drive unit and a bigger, more substantial enclosure.

Low frequencies are handled by a 380 mm PMC Radial driver loaded by Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) technology rather than a ported or sealed box. The effective ATL length is 4 m (13 ft). The response extends from 17 Hz to 400 Hz, with a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a sensitivity of 93 dB at 1 W / 1 m.

Being passive, the XB3 needs external amplification, with 200 to 1000 W recommended. The cabinet measures 1040 x 432 x 790 mm and weighs 63 kg. A 20-year warranty is available when the product is registered within 10 days of purchase, subject to terms and conditions. A technical drawing is offered as a download.
