The wafer2 is a passive on-wall loudspeaker that keeps the ultra-slim cabinet depth of the wafer1 while growing a little in height and width. The extra volume allows a larger bass driver, which gives deeper low-frequency extension and the ability to play louder than the smaller model.
It uses a 170mm (6.5") bass unit with two 27mm soft-dome high-frequency drivers. The design draws on TT Technology, Stealth Baffle and H-Line ATL, with PMC's Advanced Transmission Line bass loading used in place of a ported or sealed box. Sensitivity is 90dB (1w, 1m) and the recommended amplifier power is 10-200W into 8 ohms.
Connection is by a single pair of 4mm sockets. The speaker is suited to both stereo and surround configurations, and is listed as used in several BBC studio and dubbing suites. A 20-year warranty applies when the product is registered within 10 days of purchase.
