TB2i

The TB2i is a compact two-way floorstand or shelf-sized speaker that uses PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading rather than a ported or sealed enclosure. A PMC-designed 170mm doped bass driver on a cast alloy chassis handles low frequencies, and a 27mm ferrofluid-cooled Sonolex soft dome handles the highs, with the crossover set at 2kHz.

PMC states a response of 40Hz to 25kHz and a sensitivity of 90dB (1W, 1m) into 8 ohms. It is intended to be driven by an amplifier of 40 to 300W. The larger bass unit gives more output and bass extension than the smaller DB1i, and the dispersion is wide, so the speaker works in stereo and surround layouts alike.

Connection is by two pairs of 4mm sockets, allowing bi-wiring or bi-amping. The cabinet measures 400 x 200 x 300mm plus grille and weighs 8.5kg. A 20-year warranty applies when the product is registered within 10 days of purchase, subject to terms.
