prophecy5

The prophecy5 is a passive two-way floorstanding speaker. A 5-inch (125 mm) LTXL mineral-cone bass driver on a cast alloy chassis is loaded by an Advanced Transmission Line cabinet with an effective length of 1.79 m, and LaminairX airflow technology is used to manage air movement. A 1-inch (27 mm) soft-dome tweeter is crossed over at 1.6 kHz, and its dispersion is controlled to spread sound through the room while keeping stereo imaging precise.

The cabinet is narrow, at 165 mm wide and 900 mm tall, so it takes up about as much floor area as a stand-mounted speaker. Each speaker has a full-face fabric grille that attaches magnetically. Spikes are included in the stated height figure as an additional 20 mm. The speaker presents a 6 ohm impedance with 87 dB sensitivity and is suited to amplifiers rated from 20 to 200 W.

Connection is by one pair of 4 mm binding posts finished in satin nickel, so it needs a separate stereo amplifier or an amplified source. The maker lists a brochure, a quick set-up guide for passive speakers and an outer-dimensions drawing as downloads.
