The PMC6 is a compact active studio monitor built around a 150mm (6") bass driver with 20mm of excursion and a 27mm (1") fabric soft-dome tweeter on a shallow waveguide. The bass driver works with ATL bass loading and Laminair airflow technology, and the tweeter is chosen for wide, consistent dispersion. Each driver has its own 200W Class-D amplifier.
A DSP engine handles the crossover, driver protection, EQ, delay and polarity. It also corrects automatically for portrait or landscape placement. Controls include level trim, a high-pass filter, LF and HF shelving filters, five-band parametric EQ and user presets. Settings can be made from the rear panel or through the SoundAlign browser interface. A ceiling-mount yoke allows suspension in multichannel or immersive systems.
The XLR input switches between analogue and AES3 digital, with a digital AES3 through output and an RJ45 network port for SoundAlign. An expansion card slot is provided for future connectivity upgrades. Adding a PMC8 SUB and switching on the XBD DSP mode creates the PMC6 XBD system, with low-frequency extension down to 25Hz.
