PMC12 Sub

The PMC12 Sub is a one-way active subwoofer that adds low-frequency capability to an existing PMC monitoring setup. It uses the same latest-generation ATL (Advanced Transmission Line) cabinet as the full-range PMC12, with Laminair airflow venting, but has no tweeter or midrange driver. The single bass driver is an in-house 12-inch unit with double-stacked magnets, a three-inch three-layer voice coil and a stable suspension, intended to keep motor force linear over long excursion for low distortion at all levels.

The subwoofer is driven by a rack-mountable master36 DSP/amplifier, which supplies 1000W of Class-D power to the bass driver. The DSP provides high-pass and low-pass filters tuned to this driver, excursion limiting for protection, and room-optimisation EQ. Where more output and headroom are needed, a second PMC12 Sub can be daisy-chained from the same master36, for 2000W in total.

The master36 accepts analogue and digital inputs (digital up to 192kHz) and is controlled over a standard LAN through the browser-based SoundAlign2 interface. The product is currently in production, and a waitlist is offered for availability updates.
