The PMC10-4 is a large active reference main monitor built around a three-way design. Four in-house 10-inch long-throw bass drivers feed an Advanced Transmission Line with an effective length of 3.4 m, aided by Laminair airflow venting. The mid and high sections use a 34mm soft-dome tweeter and the PMC75v3 midrange driver, both with PMC's n-compass waveguide for controlled, wide dispersion and consistent tone across the listening area.
Each channel is powered by a Master36 DSP/amplifier unit plus a power20 amplifier. The Master36 drives two of the bass drivers directly and the power20 drives the other two, giving 5600W per cabinet (800W high, 800W mid, 4 x 1000W low). The DSP handles crossovers, system protection and room alignment EQ through the SoundAlign2 web interface, which runs in any browser over wired Ethernet.
The electronics are linked by PMC's masterlink connection, and an illuminated logo under the midrange driver shows system status. Inputs are analogue and digital up to 192kHz. The monitor can be used as a single cabinet or extended with the dedicated XBD upgrade. Production is under way and the maker offers a waitlist for availability.
