MB2 SE

The MB2 SE is a three-way floorstanding speaker that sits in the middle of the SE range. It builds on the character of the IB2 and adds the ability to reproduce more bass detail, with output reaching down to 20Hz. Bass is handled by a 310mm Radial driver whose exposed outer structure gives physical and thermal stability, with the cone allowing large excursions and the exposed fins acting as a heat sink for the voice coil.

The driver complement is a 12 inch Radial low-frequency unit, a 75mm soft-dome midrange and a 27mm Sonolex soft-dome tweeter cooled with ferrofluid. The cabinet uses Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) loading, with an effective line length of 3m, rather than a ported or sealed enclosure. Crossover points are 380Hz and 3.8kHz.

Connection is through three pairs of 4mm sockets, which allow tri-wire or tri-amp operation. Impedance is 8 ohm nominal with a sensitivity of 90dB, and the recommended amplifier power range is 10 to 500W. A matching MB2-C SE centre channel is available separately. A 20-year warranty applies when the product is registered within 10 days of purchase, subject to terms.
