The IB1S-AIII is a floor-standing three-way monitor for critical listening. A 250 mm carbon fibre/Nomex piston driver handles the low end, working with PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading, which uses an effective line length of 2.4 m. The mid-range and high frequencies are covered by a 75 mm doped fabric soft dome and a 27 mm fabric soft dome, with crossover points at 380 Hz and 3.8 kHz.
The design is described as plug and play, with the amplification built in. Input sensitivity is adjustable between 17 dB and 37 dB, and the frequency response is quoted as 25 Hz to 25 kHz. It is intended for tracking, mixing, broadcast and post-production or mastering in small to medium rooms.
Connection is through a balanced XLR input, and power comes from an IEC mains inlet accepting 100 V to 240 V. Each cabinet measures 740 x 330 x 510 mm and weighs 45 kg. A datasheet and manual are available for download, and registering the product within 10 days of purchase extends the warranty to 20 years under the maker's terms.
