The IB1S-AII is an active loudspeaker that revises the original IB1S-A. It keeps the Advanced Transmission Line bass loading, a 10-inch carbon-fibre and Nomex flat piston low-frequency driver, an isolated 3-inch mid-range driver, a 27mm soft-dome tweeter and hand-assembled 24dB/octave crossovers.
Changes over the first version include a new absorptive foam lining inside the transmission line, which lowers harmonic distortion and gives tighter bass and a clearer mid-range. The cabinet has been redesigned with extra internal bracing to cut crosstalk and resonance. Amplification comes from a DS-001 Class D amplifier fitted in the vented DS-MODULE-001 on the rear panel, rated at 400W into the 4Ω load.
Input is via a balanced XLR connector. For surround setups, the SB100-A active subwoofer can be added for the low-frequency channel, and a horizontal centre-channel version, the IB1S-A-CII, is available for 5.1 arrays.
