The CB6 is a passive three-way speaker with a 170mm paper-doped bass driver, a 75mm fabric soft-dome midrange and a 27mm silk soft-dome tweeter. Bass is loaded by an Advanced Transmission Line with an effective length of 1.9m, which is intended to give deeper bass from a smaller cabinet than ported or sealed designs.
The cabinet is made from 25mm CNC-machined Medite panels, veneered inside and out, with an acoustically treated internal labyrinth that braces each panel to limit cabinet flex and colouration. The midrange driver sits in an isolated enclosure, and the tweeter has a neodymium magnet, alloy heat sinking and ferrofluid cooling.
A 31-element, 24dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley crossover divides the drive units at 380Hz and 3.8kHz. It uses matched components, including French Solen capacitors, and the board is isolated from the cabinet. Connection is through three pairs of 4mm binding posts, so the speaker can be tri-wired or tri-amped. The maker offers a 20-year warranty if the product is registered within 10 days of purchase.
