The Active twenty5.22i is a two-way active standmount speaker that is slightly larger than the Active 21i. Each cabinet contains 2x100W of amplification, so the system needs only a source with volume control, such as a preamplifier or streamer. It can be placed on dedicated stands, a console or other furniture.
Bass comes from a 6.5-inch (170mm) long-throw g-weave cone driver on a cast alloy chassis, loaded by an Advanced Transmission Line with an effective length of 2m and a Laminair vent. A 19mm SONOMEX fabric soft-dome tweeter, ferrofluid cooled and fitted with a 34mm surround and dispersion grille, handles the high frequencies. An optimised active crossover divides the two drivers at 1.75kHz.
Inputs are balanced analogue XLR and unbalanced RCA. Sensitivity can be switched between a low and a high setting. The speaker measures 410 x 192 x 357mm and weighs 10.15kg. A 20 year warranty applies when the product is registered within 10 days of purchase, subject to terms.
