The XDJ-RX2 combines two player decks and a two-channel mixer in one unit. It is built around a 7-inch full-colour touch screen that shows waveforms with Wave Zoom and is used for browsing, alongside a QWERTY keyboard, a large rotary selector, Needle Search, Track Filter and Short Cut functions. Each deck has eight multi-coloured performance pads for Hot Cues, Beat Loop, Slip Loop and Beat Jump.
The mixer section uses EQ and channel fader curves matched to those of the DJM-900NXS2 club mixer, and includes Sound Colour FX and Beat FX. High-quality digital sound processing is used to keep distortion low.
Tracks can be loaded from a rekordbox-prepared USB device, or from an iPhone, iPod touch or Android smartphone. Connecting a laptop over USB enables Link Export, so tracks can be played directly from rekordbox without exporting them first. The unit can also act as a MIDI controller for DJ software. There are two mic inputs (XLR or 1/4 inch TRS) and two Line/Phono inputs for CDJs, turntables or portable players.
